The Perfect Victim starts with a bang, I was gripped from the outset. I read a lot of crime fiction but I think Corrie Jackson has really given this book a fresh spin.
Charlie and Emily are the perfect couple. Or so it seems. They are bright young things who have everything. But there is more to their relationship than this perceived perfection. Some dark corners and dysfunction lurk thereabouts. Things soon unravel when the police come knocking. I won’t say too much else as I would hate to spoil the story.
Suffice to say, I was gripped! The suspense and tension never lets up. The author adds subtle, clever details and clues for us to puzzle over. I was trying desperately to suss it all out but I kept coming up with more questions. My nails are now bitten to the quick.
