Brilliant page turner
The Perfect Victim is Corrie Jackson's second novel on the Sophie Kent series, and what a brilliant novel it was!
When I started reading The Perfect Victim I hadn't read the first book, Breaking Dead, but after reading a few chapters I decided to go and read it to get a bit more background information on Sophie. I'm glad I did this but it wasn't 100% necessary and you can easily read this book as a standalone novel.
I can't find much fault with this book, apart from finding it a bit slow in the beginning. However once the pace stepped up a bit I got really into the story. Corrie's writing is excellent and she writes in such a way that sometimes I have to cover the page with my bookmark to stop myself peeking and skipping ahead!
I am really looking forward to the next book, especially as there is an ongoing story with Sophie's brother which has left a bit of a cliffhanger.
