Gripping!
Although I haven’t read the first book in this series, The Perfect Victim gave me enough information to catch up quickly!
Although the first half of the book had a lot going on - new characters / suspects, after that it was a lot easier to get immersed in the setting.
Charlie and Emily Swift are a married couple but when Charlie gets accused of murder their whole world shifts. I found this really interesting as the more that Sophie Kent delved into proving Charlie’s innocence the more secrets and dangers she uncovers. I like how this looks at different relationships - The marriage, the best friend / detective, the cult!
I wasn’t sure I loved every character but I was satisfied with the ending of the book and felt it wrapped up all loose ends nicely.
