I didn't realise that this book was the second in a series but it wasn't too difficult to pick up the back story.Sophie Kent is a journalist working in London. Her best friend Charlie Swift disappears after being implicated in his murder. His wife Emily turns to Charlie for help. Their apparently perfect marriage does not stand up to close scrutiny.Sophie finds herself in danger trying to find out what happened to Charlie.
I really enjoyed this book but would have enjoyed it more if I'd read Breaking Dead first. Sophie and Emily are not altogether likeable characters which gives the book an edge. The story rattles along at a great pace and I didn't guess the ending which is always a bonus! Well worth trying
