I am eager to read the rest of this novel after being gripped by it from the start. The cover of the book is just right, eye catching with a historical and menacing aspect to it.
The start did remind me quite a bit of The Miniaturist, with the young wife who has been thrust into a life she is unprepared for and wants desparately to please her new husband but does not know how to reach him. I am interested to see how the character develops and what is in store for her.
