There are multiple reasons for me wanting to read this. Firstly, the cover is exquisite. The illustration on the cover is beautiful and intricate which draws my attention. Secondly, it is set in Edinburgh, which, being from Edinburgh, excites me a lot. I have never read a book set in Edinburgh before so I hope this is as good as I think it will be. Lastly, and probably the biggest factor in my desire to read this, is the comparison that is made to The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton, my favourite read of 2016. Hopefully this will live up to that comparison!
