From the immediately atmospheric and evocative opening chapters it is clear that the reader is going to be very quickly drawn into the dark and disturbing journeys each of the characters is embarking on - I already feel apprehensive, even fearful, about the depths of depravity I will be exposed to should I be given the opportunity to read this story! The malign use of power is something which holds a particular fascination for me and it would appear that this is a theme which is central to the developing story. I also think that an immediately appealing cover enhances the pleasure I feel when reading a book - and the cover of The Pharmacist's Wife ticks all the right boxes!
