The cover of this book is beautiful, it instantly caught my attention and from reading the blurb I thought this would be something I'd enjoy, but after reading the First Impression I've found myself disappointed.
I can't really pinpoint exactly why this doesn't work for me.
As another reviewer mentioned, I think one of the reasons I couldn't get into this might be down to the author's writing style. It just doesn't work for me.
I was also confused by the sudden introduction of "Lionel", a character that all of a sudden was part of the story with no introduction, meaning I read backwards a page or two to see if I'd missed anything.
All in all, not a book I'd want to read more of.
