Well, they say every day is a schoolday and today certainly was. I have read quite a lot of Victorian Fiction and fiction set in that time period and never before have I heard of Saloop. Admittedly it does sound revolting but always nice to learn something new.
This looks like being an engrossing read but one that may take 50 or so pages to really settle into it's stride. During the First Impression it feels very much like we are still just in the early stages of scene and character setting but it is a very promising start.
