This book was very enjoyable. I loved the underlying feminism throughout the plotline and, without giving too much away, the ending was GREAT. The book kept me guessing the whole time, never entirely sure that I trusted the protagonist who seemed a little confused herself. Her creepy husband... I feel like we all know someone that we think might have the potential to be just like him. The exploration into the use of opium at this time was very interesting, and I feel like I've learnt a little as well as enjoying the read itself. The cover was beautiful - it was eye catching and is definitely what attracted me to the book in the first place, and it certainly didn't let me down. I sped through it and will be looking out for more books by the same author.
