I was immediately drawn to this book by the cover. It's very eye catching, and as soon as I saw that it was set in the Victorian era, I was extremely interested already. I'm a sucker for any book set in that time period! From what I've read so far, the characters seem interesting and complex and I'd like to know more about them and their relationships. The plot seems like it could be really dark and atmospheric, but I would honestly expect that in a Victorian setting. I love that it's set in Edinburgh too. As a Scot, it's always appealing to see books set in places that I visit regularly. Makes it seem more real in a way. I am already looking forward to seeing what happens next in this novel!
