This is definitely the type of book I'd usually go for. The cover is beautiful and yet dark, I just love it and that definitely attracted my attention. The story itself from the beginning is interesting, theres a grit to it that makes you want to continue reading. The subject has been greatly researched and the details are impeccable. The characters seem likeable, but theres definitely something underlineing, maybe a dark side in there too. The atmosphere is great too, the writer has really made you feel like you could be stood in Edinburgh watching all of this play out and I really like that. The writing is good, everything is explained well, but nothing is too complicated for anyone who doesn't know about the subject matter.
