When I started 'The Pharmacist's Wife', I was really excited! It sounded like such a good book which really interesting themes, and I loved the use of the Victorian setting. Plus the cover was just lovely, and really drew in the eye.

However, a few pages into the book I begun to struggle. It wasn't that 'The Pharmacist's Wife' was bad, exactly - certainly, there were lots of people that enjoyed this book - but I just couldn't get into it at all. I found the dialogue stiff and unwieldy, and the plot convoluted. I had no idea what was going on, and the character of Rebecca confused me endlessly. It might be that I'll have to pick this up again sometime later, because it certainly isn't working for me right now, unfortunately.
