Intriguing start but not sure I like where the story is headed!

Although the premise of the novel did not attract me and it is the second in a series that is new to me, the FI was compelling. It certainly intrigued me, however I am not sure I will like the direction the story takes with anything supernatural being out of my comfort zone and making my eyes roll!
