The prologue is quite creepy as we witness the kidnapping of a young vulnerable girl on her way home. In the next few chapters we meet various characters and learn that lots of people have gone missing in the town and that the girls mother died a year before she went missing. There is also allusion to witchcraft. This was a strong start and quite creepy.
