This opening was great, really hooked me in, and then the contrast jump back to the mundane life of a struggling author, who happens to run a show about unexplained mysteries, really started setting the scene with good pace and variety

With an abduction and strange figures, along with a general air of menace or threat that is already creeping through this was a good first impression, between it and the blurb I can tell this book should be a good thriller. Where I am less sure of is if it is going to head down the crime or eerie/horror route.
