This was my first read from this author. When I first put myself forward to request a review copy I didn’t realise that it was part of a series, and only realised when I went to add it to my Goodreads shelves. Although this was the second instalment to “The Anomaly Files” technically you could read this book as a standalone but there are references to the first book “The Anomaly”, so if you haven’t read that one yet then I suggest you do just so that you understand the backstory a little better.

I found this to be an interesting read, at the same time there was just something about it that didn’t quite met my expectations.

The story started off interesting but as it progressed I found it got a bit weird and I couldn’t quite work out what was meant to be going on as I felt everything was just jumping around a bit too much. However, saying that there were some parts that I really got into and that is the main reason I kept the pages turning.

I really liked some of the characters. Some were believable and appealing, but there were some that I found to be a little irritating. My favourite was Kristy.

All in all, a good read, not quite up there with Stephen King but never the less definitely different from the norm. I think I will read the first books and then re-read this one again.
