I was so disappointed with this book. I read the first book with this set of characters, The Anomaly, and was absolutely thrilled with it. Although a little clunky to start with, it was fast-paced and scary! This, on the other hand, was all clunk and no thrill. I struggled to hold the characters in my head and whilst I kept expecting to be scared, it just never came. Each chapter was a slog and I really had to drag myself through it. I was disappointed, perhaps because I had higher expectations going into it, and I definitely wouldn't recommend this to others. A true shame, as the concept had great potential but not a winner for me. I will be interested to see if Rutger continues with this cast of characters because it does feel like it's flopped now.
