I have read the first of these books and enjoyed it so was looking forward to reading this. I wasn't disappointed! Plenty of twists and turns, intrigue, weirdness. Would recommend for those that like mysteries of the fantasy kind. The author wrote a previous book involving most of the main characters, which was a lot better (in my opinion) which is why I've only given this 4 instead of 5 stars.
The author writes the scenes very well, you can believe you are there, walking down that misty street or smelling the dank cellar or feeling the crunch of dead leaves under your feet.... and that, for me, is the sign of a good read, when you lose yourself into the pages of a story.
