I was quite disappointed reading this book. The first impression really excited me, it sounded right up my street... eerie and mysterious and set near San Francisco, I couldn't wait to read it. With short chapters too, it sounded perfect.
I enjoyed parts of it, the friends and their relationships, the town they were visiting. There were parts I found really gripping.
But I felt the mystery/magic/witchcraft part was all over the place, I really struggled to understand what was going on, where they were and who was there. I feel the book had great promise and grounds to be a really strong book but it needed more fine-tuning. Unfortunately, the eerie atmosphere was knocked down as quickly as it built down.
