I have to say I had built myself to read this book. The cover itself promised a story of suspense, mystery and a promise of being scary.
For me, the story took far too long to unwind. I felt at times I was reading a book more suited to a teenager. There was not enough to grip me and keep me and I found I was making myself pick up the book at times.
I questioned whether it was me. Perhaps my interest in this genre has passed. But no, when I looked back on the Stephen King books i have read and enjoyed I would read those again.
As it is I found myself looking forward to this book ending.
To be fair this is just one persons view of this book. I am certain there will be many readers who will find The Possession by Michael Rutger a great read. Just not for me.
