I so looked forward to reading this second book in The Anomaly series but was quite disappointed. The writing is good and doesn’t interfere with the story telling. The characters well described and believable.
The story carries on from the first book but you don’t have to read that to make sense of this one. The hero, Nolan Moore is the presenter of The Anomaly Files a Tv (YouTube) show about unsolved mysteries. This case they’re investigating is about walls built long ago, without reason, in Northern California ignoring all barriers- mountains, forests and rivers! They turn up and find the town is searching for a lost teenage girl.
The scene is set for a scary story but somehow loses the intensity half way through the book and doesn’t regain it. A bit disappointing as I enjoyed the first one very much.
