A missing girl, mysterious stone walls, a journalist and a team that work on a tv show which focuses on unsolved mysteries. They all come together to the remote town of Birchlake to investigate the walls and the missing girl. I enjoyed the build up of suspense in the first part of the book and the dark and menacing descriptions of the town and woods really set the scene, but once the story moved into the paranormal I began to get confused and it stopped holding my interest. For me there was too much going on and too many characters and I found it difficult to keep track, although I was please that everything got wrapped up neatly by the end (I hate paranormal stories with ambiguous endings!)

A decent enough book, but not a winner for me.
