I thought putting for fans of Stephen King was setting the bar a bit high, and i was right as this barely even touches that bar. Having read the previous book in this series i was familiar with some of the characters, but thought it took them a bit too long in this one to mention the events from the first book - and the fact that everyone seems a little too ok with what happened there - no signs of trauma after some pretty weird events.
Starts off with a missing girl mystery, and then moves into the crew from the first book that seem to have found themselves a new story to look into - walls. Sounds incredibly interesting (sarcasm), it had potential of being a decent mystery, but didn't quite pull it off for me. Definitely not building the sort of character development expected of a Stephen King story. It did get a little creepy in places, but then tapered off again. Turned into more an episode of Supernatural, kept waiting for the Winchesters to turn up and sort everything out. There are demons that have managed to cross over due to the protective walls being dismantled somewhat, they cause a bit of mischief trying to get more of the walls down so more of them can come through - but nothing too drastic in the end.
