From 1925 to1937 we follow the fortunes of May Moon and her friends, family and loves. Over the course of the book we see her go from a seemingly orphaned girl to a confident woman. It takes two acts one the summer after her father has died and two the years after her guardian dies and she moves to London. Both have their fun parts and show well thought out characters and plot.

The writing evokes Joanne Harris and Elizabeth Elgin in this sweet, easy to read, family saga. It just goes to show you shouldn't judge a book by its cover as I would never have picked this off the shelf but I really enjoyed it. I received my copy from ReadersFirst in exchange for an honest review and I can honestly say it was a good choice.
