I loved the story The Punch And Judy Girl. It is fresh and fascinating. May Moons father Jim suffered chronic congestion a condition that had plagued him since he was gassed in the trenches during the Great War. Carmen his wife toured with the dancers to entertain the troops. May used to help her father refurbish all the puppets, sewing new costumes, painting fresh black cloth and inventing new props. After her fathers death May packs her bags and moves to the seaside in hope that she can continue to do the puppet show. This is a beautiful story for every reader. I do hope that many readers will enjoy reading about May Moon as much as what I have. I learned quite a lot about the Great War by reading this novel and I also enjoyed reading about the puppets.
