I think, given more of the book to understand the characters and their stories, this could be a good read.
I appreciate the attempt to turn the current way of the world completely on its head and to the extreme in a more novel dystopian piece. However, I found it hard to grasp the motivations and personalities of some of the characters in the excerpt.
