This book is centred around a dystopian society in which women rule over the men, and is reminiscent of books like the vox, the handmaid's tale and noughts and crosses.
I enjoyed the multiple pov's which give great insight into the minds of the characters. In the extract we followed two characters, Arthur who helps us understand how the 'quickening' came about through his relationship with Dana, the 'founder' of the movement and Victoria, a high ranking female in this new society.
