When I read the blurb for this one I was immediately thinking of Vox, the alternative reality where women were forcibly censored, I both loved and felt horrified reading it.
Reading The Quickening gave me the same feelings, from early on we can see how things are switched, women are so vital and from the little mentions of how the men are treated, it is clear this is going to be a real gritty novel.
