A book set in a near future Britain isn’t ever going to be top of my wish list but when it’s a novel that is obviously going to be banging on about an important issue (gender in this case), I come out in hives! Reading the first impression made my eyes started rolling as I have extreme difficulty buying into the set-up and suspending disbelief. I wasn’t a fan of the prose either which seemed overly dramatic.
