being a huge fan of dystopian feminist novels like margaret atwood’s the handmaids tale, i was really excited to be given an arc of this book. however, i can’t help but feel as though the writing of this was incredibly satirical and difficult to take the issue of patriarchy and inequality seriously.

each character felt as though the author had just gone to google and searched “stereotypical angry feminist”, using the first few results as a basis for their characters. the whole thing was so unbearable that i had to stop reading halfway through.

if this was executed better i’m sure i would have liked this a lot more, but it’s definitely not for me and i won’t be quick to recommend to others. hopefully the author can use this piece of work as a stepping stone for growth and improvement (especially in character development and how they choose to portray the social issues in their novel).
