I was really excited to read this book and from the first look it seemed really interesting and a definite twist with women being in power. I did really enjoy reading the whole book but I did find that it was darker in tone than I had realised. I wasn't expecting some of what I read to have been put into place by the women in power and I did think some of it was a little too dark and pushing it for my liking. However, if it's aiming to be thought provoking and controversial - then it definitely has done that!
I did really enjoy reading the plot, and thought the characters were intriguing. Personally, I wasn't a massive fan of the ending and would have liked something different as I felt it was all completely building up to something else happening, but I can see how other people may well be quite happy with that ending. All in all, I'm glad I read the book, but it was definitely different from what I was expecting.
