I was really looking forward to reading this book but unfortunately it let me down. The premise of the book held promise as it reminded me the handmaids tale or the vox kind of vibes but in reverse. Sadly it wasn't written well: bland characters who reacted to situations in the strangest of ways, important parts glossed over and one of the most awful endings I have ever read.

I gave it a two as the premise is definitely interesting and there were two plot twists that I did not see coming. It was clever how the two characters who's viewpoints we read came together. Otherwise the book made me feel uncomfortable and frustrated.

I feel that if this book had a higher word count the author could have focused in on some important moment and improved on character development. There was too much in this book to do a good job in 343 pages. Therefore I wouldn't be in a rush to read any other books from this author.
