Think 1984 meets Handmaid's Tale meets Brave New World and you may be somewhere to getting to the substance of Talulah Riley's novel. This is more though than a feminist novel this is a novel of our time when nothing can be guaranteed and society is changing.

Dana and Arthur meet each other at Oxford University she has an idea to change the world for a world where women are in charge. Arthur is obsessed by Dana though she keeps him hanging on for decades and manipulates his life.

The world which Dana invents is so pro women that men are mere pets who are unable to voice their opinions . To the reader it appears so real frighteningly so. Even women will cringe at some of the practices which take place and at times it is very hard to read but read on I had to do it draws you in so much that you really do not want to reach the end. I feel it is a modern classic and will certainly read it again.
