A dystopian set in the future of London where women are ruling the world, following a virus that spreads around the world and war. This book is very engaging and is interesting in how the story is told from two different perspectives of Arthur (Dana's lover from university) and Victoria (a pop star). We get to see the present time of the characters, including their memories of the 'Quickening'. Dana also has feelings for Arthur, but this new world treats men as secondary citizens. The future of men either become eunuchs or slaves. Meanwhile, Arthur joins the 'Strife', a group of men who join together to fight for freedom. Dana is the new leader of this female-dominating world, which does also make her relationship with Arthur very strange.
It was easy to read the book and the writing flowed well. I feel that the story still lacked in some elements, but overall it was a good read :)
