For me this was a 1 star read. I was so excited to read this. I love a strong female lead that looks at females in power and the result to men.
However this book just never really did anything different in this genre. I've read books with a similar vein that was so much more hard hitting. I really wanted to like this book but sadly I didn't.
The characters in this were not compelling. It dealt with dark topics but glossed over alot of the trauma. Never really explored enough to me to make it worth mentioning in the first place. The characters felt unfleshed out and not deep enough. So the characters didn't compelle me in the story.
On a positive note there was some imagination put in, with wet wombs and the odd imagery of through the water on women on their periods. But I just didn't find this book to be ground breaking.
