I was a little bit sceptical when I learned that the author of the book was famous, and with some pretty amazing connections (her ex-husband is Elon Musk). I went into the book thinking it would likely be a vanity project for somebody who just wanted to write a book. I always admit when I'm wrong, and in this case, I was certainly wrong.
Think of a modern day 1984. This book touches on so many important topics that I can't even begin to list them here. It is satirical but in a way that is not alienating. I loved the storyline, particularly Arthur's (one of the characters who narrates the story).
It is imaginative, well-written and drew me in instantly. I love the idea that feminism, like all things, can be toxic. The book fights for equal rights for all, independent of biology and upbringing. The storyline is quick-paced and kept me wanting more.
The only thing I wanted more of was detail. The story seems a little rushed in parts and things that I think could have been rounded out more were glossed over. Other than that, it is an awesome read!
