Kept me gripped!
I love dystopian fiction and this new society where females are in power and males are second class citizens was a fantastic new twist in this genre.
The style of writing is impressive, great imagery, believable and relatable dialogue and consistently engaging - though the second half of the book was definitely more gripping due to more action, an increase in graphic description and a faster pace.
The characters were all enjoyable and I found myself torn between Arthur and Victoria, I kept agreeing with both of them despite their differences in opinion.
Dana was brilliantly constructed and definitely a force to be reckoned with. I did feel a tad confused by the end. I felt there was more to be said, more to be explained.
Overall, this was a real page turner and I was incredibly grateful to receive a proof copy. I will certainly be reading more by Talulah Riley in the future.
