Initially when I saw this book I 100% thought it was the perfect book for me. I loved the dystopian feel and the modern day spin on women being in power in opposed to men however unfortunately I just felt like the novel lacked the necessary substance and backing that I was hoping for.
The cover was grabbing and it did stand out to me which was a real positive.
The story alternates between 2 different narratives, one male and one female. I suppose this was to try and show the differing opinions between genders however unfortunate it just fell a little bit flat for me.
I didn't particularly warm to any of the characters which made it a difficult read.
I had really high hopes for the book and I still feel like the base story could be made into something really great however this didn't quite hit the mark.
Would I recommend this to a friend? Probably not.
