Where to start! Firstly, this is obviously dystopian - set in the near future where women quite literally rule. Men have become nothing more than an accessory and are allocated specific roles, 'gentleman' etc. Basically think a reverse Handmaid's Tale.

'The Change' takes place after a virus has swept the world, swiftly followed by war. Seriously hoping the 'war' isn't prophetic! After this, Dana becomes the new Prime Minister and brings in her matriarchal politics. Alongside this, is the unusual relationship between Dana and Art, a man she knew from before, but who is now also unhappily part of her new world.

This was quite an interesting read and in parts some themes reminded me of The Power. I ended up reading late into the night, as I was keen to find out how it would end.

As with all dystopian novels I read, they leave me thinking and hoping that we'll never see this world. Given the past couple of years, dystopian fiction seems a little bit too real these days.
