WWII has become increasingly the subject of historical fictions on my bookshelf, since reading Jessica Shattuck's The Women of the Castle and Wendy Holden's Born Survivors; both books telling their stories through the viewpoint of very different women, all doing what they can to ensure their survival and that of their children.
