The red ribbon is a truly amazing book! Set during the Holocaust of WWII it follows the journey of fictional character- Ella. Ella sews and uses her talent to get herself a job within Birchwood (Auschwitz-Birkenau) to survive. Each dress that Ella makes is the difference between life and death. The way that this story is set out is amazing and every part of the story just fits together seamlessly! (No pun intended) Ella and her friend Rose are both interesting and fresh characters that contradict each other perfectly. The ending is so sweet and brings everything together really well - a sequel would be perfect! This is a book that I would think many different people would enjoy - not just people who have a strong passion for reading about the Holocaust.
