A great story that pulls you into the world of dress making, under the unusual pressures of life in the worst concentration camp of WW2. I never realised before that the camp actually had parts to it like this dress making studio and a 'department store' of you will for the guards who ran the camp.

You get drawn in by the measures you have to go to to survive, that day by day could be life or death for you. I liked the build up of the different characters, there are a few twists and turns and some heartbreaking moments, although these aren't too graphic for the younger age range who this is aimed at.

I would have liked to have seen more of a development of the relationship between Henrik and Ella, this could have been explored further and given a great element to the story, and maybe found out more about his fate at the end of the book. Although, as I guess mirrors real life, people in some cases would never have been able to find out what happened to their friends and family once the war was over.

All in all, a great read that takes you back in time and makes you feel greatful for growing up out of war time.
