I absolutely loved this book. I've never been the biggest fan of historical fiction, if that's what you'd call it, but this book definitely had me wanting more. Since the author, Lucy Adlington is an expert in this field, she really made it feel like it was happing right there and that everything was real.

It took me a few days to read it but I was always in the position that I didn't want to put it down at the end of the night. It's not too safe but I even walked down the street reading it a few times. It was always just one more sentence, one more page, one more chapter. If I'd had the time, it's definitely one I could've finished in a day.

I really loved the characters, especially Ella and Rose and the authors amazing descriptions of them, the other people and their surroundings definitely gave me the opportunity to picture it in my head. I could see it so clearly it was like I was there with them. There was parts of it where I wanted to cry and there were parts where I wanted to smile, either at Ella's bravery or because of the bond she shared with Rose.

I have to say the last chapter was definitely my favourite out of the whole book. I won't give any spoilers and I will be suggesting to everyone I know to read this, but it made me very happy that things were working out. It would be amazing to have a sequel to this book, to see where life takes Ella and Rose and anyone else that pops up along the way. However, I don't think there would be enough to tell as it was pretty much all covered towards the end of this book.
