One of the best book I have read for quite some time. At first glance it reminded me of the boy in striped pyjamas but after reading the first few chapters it had depth and the characters ALL showed the different sides of the holocaust. Heartwarming end to a magnificent read I read in a record day too. The story was unique and showed how survival in horrendous times was relevant for the guards as much as the stripeys. The friendship made between the main two characters is amazing and heartbreaking at the same time. And shows the strenght and ferocity people had to survive day to day. While bringing a sweet sub plot into play. I now want to know the after story I need to know how the girls coped and if they did in fact become successful in the red ribbon shop
