When I started reading this I thought it was going to be an amazing book. I did enjoy it but it had the potential to be much better. I really liked the character of Nova and felt she wad brought to life really well. The author has done their research into the way sight develops and the way he describes Novas sight returning and her rules of sight was brilliantly written. I work in ophthalmology so it would have annoyed me if this didnt make sense. Kate was also a good character but I didnt feel invested in the love story, it seemed quite toxic in places and I would have liked to see them both getting support from their family and friends rather than trying to be in a bubble together. I think the author had tried to cover too many issues in some ways which wasnt really necessary so that some bits were too thin. We didnt really get to know much about Tony so I dont think he was a sinister enough presence. I found the ending a bit disappointing, why does noone in books ever call the police!?
