32 year old Nova has been blind her entire life. She is an intelligent woman with a lucrative job with the Metropolitan Police; she speaks five languages and is an interpreter. After much deliberation she decides to have a ground breaking operation to restore her sight.
This is essentially a story of her journey, an interesting exploration into what most of us take for granted. A re-learning of how to cope in this fast paced world. Nova soon discovers that her safety mechanisms, her routines that give her comfort no longer give her the ability to cope.
She meets Kate and is thrown into her complicated and somewhat dangerous life.

I thought that the premise of Nova learning to live her life in a new and alien way and adjusting to sight beyond 'the miracle' with the possibility of rejecting this path was a fascinating one. I think that there could have been a little more emotional exploration around this original idea a little less plot .
That said, I did enjoy it and would recommend it.
