This is a story about the life of Nova.
Nova has been blind from birth.
It then becomes within her power to change her life by accepting the chance of surgery which she is assured will give her what she has up to now not had ...the help to restore her sight.
To change completely her way of life or to stay as she is was obviously a huge decision and she has to weigh up the challenges this huge change in lifestyles will bring.
Having heard about a similar case of someone in the same position I can relate to how the person who is the main character in this book is feeling.
In the true life of the case I am thinking about the person who was getting on in years refused the procedure they preferred to stay in the world they knew and were comfortable with.
I found it very hard to understand this as I have never been blind....this book gives much insight for those of us who feel this way.
