I am instantly intrigued in a book when it features a diverse protagonist, and it is so rare to read a book that features a blind person in a lead role. It was so interesting to read and this felt like a well-researched book. It was very touching and eye-opening as it shows the difficult journey that Nova must go on once she is given the ability to see after a lifetime of blindness. It is not a matter of simply opening her eyes and having vision as after over three decades, she doesn't know how to use her vision or interpret what she is seeing as her eyes haven't developed with her from birth. It is a fascinating perspective and a very intriguing story. It was filled with emotion and wonderfully three-dimensional characters who brought the book to life.
