I thought the basic premise of the book was a really interesting idea, and was looking forward to some insight (no pun intended) into what can happen when somebody gains vision for the first time as an adult. However, I was a little bit disappointed. This was not that because it wasn't an diverting tale, because it was, but I just felt there was too much emphasis on the romantic part of the plot, which to me was much less interesting than the main character's journey of learning to see. I also felt that the characterisation could have been stronger or more detailed - I didn't totally believe or get lost in this story. So overall I thought this was a pretty good read, and sensitively written, but it was just lacking a little something that would have made it really good.
